Introducing the Nickelodeon Collab!

In commemoration of the release of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, I present the Newgrounds Nickelodeon Collab, an animation Collab that aims to feature every major Nickelodeon cartoon from their first original debut to the mid 2010’s. Applications are now open for animators, artists, and voice actors to join the project. The collaboration will include cartoons about most Nicktoons featured on Nickelodeon, and will serve as a tribute to the network.

The Collab will give every participant plenty of time to work (... roughly one year and a half!! ...), as it’s set to release sometime in 2025-2026 due to Nickelodeon’s soon-to-be upcoming anniversary, meaning there won't be a stressful deadline constantly looming.

HOW TO APPLY

If you’d like to apply as an animator, it’s advised that you contact me with various examples of your work through the Collab’s email. The same goes for animators and voice actors, alongside any other talented individuals who may want to contribute towards this project. If accepted, you'll be directed to a Discord server where everything is organized, and animators will be able to pick from cartoons to make skits of!

CARTOON REQUIREMENTS

> Cartoons can be from 40 seconds to 3 minutes in length, though there are times where extensions can be provided. <

> Cartoons must be '1080 x 720' or '1920 x 1280'. <

> Animations are suggested to be 24 fps, but anything from 12-24 fps will be accepted. If you don't make your animation at the suggest 24 fps, you should inform a Collab organizer!<

> Animations are to be submitted as a 'mp4' or 'swf'. If you're having issues exporting your cartoon, ask an organizer for help, and they can export it for you! <

> Content in everyone's cartoons cannot exceed a T rating for very obvious reasons. <

> When you join the Collab as an animator, you'll be able to pick between various cartoons, once a cartoon is chosen it will be marked off and that animator will get to make a cartoon about it. Please don't start fights over certain cartoons and be respectful!! <

This Collab is something I’ve been thinking about doing for some time, and I’m incredibly happy I finally get to put my plans into action. I'm hoping it comes out as good as I've envisioned it in the past, as I'll be putting most of my attention towards running this Collab as proactively as I can.

Man I'm really bad at this whole weekly schtick.


Hey there! So things have been a bit rough as of late, both mentally and physically, and it's made work an absolute drag. Things have been getting better gradually but I doubt I'll be well in time for the intended release of Vitrics' Duelist Demo. Though in light of that, I'm nearly set to finally start rough animation for the project, among many other Newgrounds exclusive projects! I've been mostly working on collaboration work, among the likes of projects such as the Topstick Collab and the Blamformers Collab 2. I have a lot of work ahead of me still, and it won't be easy in my state, but I fully intend to push forward in spite of my poor health. Regardless though, I might as well still give updates on what I had done.


DUELIST DEMO

The Duelist Demo has been coming along pretty well conceptually, I'm essentially ready to start animation and SFX work, as everything else is practically done. I have a solid outline and a selection of audio to use, as well as a picture perfect visualization of how I want things to end up. I haven't done much artwork, as I've felt the need to organize things above all else, so I've done a lot of writing and cleaning. There's a couple documents about the project at the moment that are pretty major to it's development, spanning around 20k words total. Though I've still done plenty of visual work, including numerous style tests for when I eventually get to animating the close-ups featured in the demo.

I've also done a lot of background work, I won't show the more finished concepts as they're heavily subject to change, but I'm very proud of the visuals I've presented thus far. I really hope I get to work on this demo more often.

Pico Day 2024

Being that I failed to finish my last Pico Day contribution in the form of my giant art piece made to commemorate and celebrate the occasion, I've taken my time planning out a huge tribute to Newgrounds in the form of a project I want to make throughout early 2024. This project will be pretty secretive as of now, but I'll be making posts about it in the future in order to seek help in it's production, as it's an incredibly ambitious project. I will likely reveal more in the future so I can seek some thoughts other than my own, but I'm certain that Pico Day Forever will turn out pretty nice!

Transformers Collab 2

Most of my recent efforts have been for the upcoming Transformers Collab 2, in which I have taken heavy part of, that's being hosted by my good friend @CrockettDK. I've been working relatively hard on my own original cartoon with the help of some friends about the Autobots holding applications in a convention center. It's a pretty simple plot, but I have high hopes for the cartoon, as I hope to make it tailored to my style of animation and writing. It also has some really cool people doing some really cool voices for the characters, which is honoring.

I've also been tasked with making concepts and possible final assets for the Collab, regarding it's transitions and promotional material. So that's pretty fucking cool, even if I'm just making rough concepts as of now..!

The Nickelodeon Collab

To commemorate the release of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, and the upcoming Nickelodeon anniversary sometime in 2026, I'll be opening applications for a new Nickelodeon themed animation Collab based off of the many original creations that Nick has had to offer. November 3rd will mark the date that the applications will hopefully be open to the public, where I'll also be releasing more information about how the Collab works.

Time Patrol クソのために!

I've been slowly preparing the production of an entirely original series that I hope to work on once I finish all of my 2024 projects called 'Time Patrol: FFS!'. This series is to be a 9 episode cartoon series that follows a relatively simple story of Time Patrol agents working to get their high ranks back after a slip up in the field, resulting in multiple time prisoners' being let loose. I have a lot of writing done for the entire series, and have some very simple character designs and worldbuilding elements in the workings. This will be a project I likely won't get to work on for a good year or so, which is fine by me, but I hope it lives up to the expectations I've held it to. I'll provide future updates within the year!!

Collab Work

Not too long ago, I foolishly signed up for an unholy amount of animation collaborations in hopes of having an excuse to animate more frequently, which has often lead to harsh work conditions and declining mental health. I still have a large amount of Collab work I have to get done in the next couple of months, but I feel as if they're turning out pretty well, and find myself excited to share what I'm making.

Commissions

Roughly a year ago I set up commissions with a rather elaborate promotion setup (... for my skills at the time ...), and have since then closed them due to mental health and overwhelming workloads. While I'm still working on finishing a lot of owed work, I've also been at work on overdue commissions and art trades from that era. After I finish all of that overdue work, I fully intend to reopen commissions with a fresh coat of paint alongside new payment methods and updated examples of my work. This will likely take up a lot of time from my already small amount of time to work on passion projects, but it'll ensure financial stability while I continue to do what I love.

I'm hoping to get all of this stuff up and running within the next month or so, even if it requires cutting some corners over time. I'm relatively proud of what I've been able to do despite my current condition, and I hope to continue at this pace. I'll be taking some time for myself so I can hopefully work through my current mental issues, but I'll try to work as often as possible without it being to my detriment. So much for a 'weekly' demo update, my bad.


I've been busy for months now, yet not much has been getting done. Ignoring my blatant unproductivity, I've been working on a few things and battling poor mental health since the last update. Things have been rough but I have a lot of ideas for my future with my projects, and plan to finally get shit done during summer, and will provide updates accordingly, though I actively show progress on said projects on my twitter.


DUELIST DEMO


Despite this being called a 'Duelist Demo Update', I've actually not worked on the Demo since February or so. It was intended to be released on April 1st, as a double April fool, but unfortunately that wasn't possible with the situation I was in, and the ambitiousness of the project.

I've made a few concept doodles and have picked out all the SFX and Music I would need for the project, but I haven't opened the FLA for ages. I intend to start working on it in a couple months and release it around December.

OTHER PROJECTS

Pico Day

My biggest project as of the past few months has been none other than my piece for Pico Day. It was by far my most ambitious projects yet, though due to unfortunate circumstances (ie. extreme sickness, issues with personal matters, mental health being incredibly poor, etc.), I was unable to finish it. The entire drawing was around 15% complete when i left off last time on Pico Day, and I had passed out numerous times in the process of trying to finish it in time.

I'm very regretful that i hadn't prepared sooner, and I hope to maybe finish it one day. Apologies to all who were looking forward to it, I let you down big time.

Some Object Show

Over the course of the past few weeks, I've been starting production on an Object Show. I've been a fan of the medium for quite a while now, and always wanted to give it a shot. I don't have much to share at the moment outside of some characters, and I doubt it's interesting enough to warrant anyone caring about it, but I'm pretty proud of it's premise as of now. I'll show off this stupid little character sheet with all 3 of the teams for now, nothing special.

Various Cartoons/Parodies

I've been working on a few cartoons as of late, not too dissimilar from the average recap/parody animation found anywhere else on Newgrounds or even YouTube. The cartoons are about things such as Downwell, Pokémon Unite, and whatever else I feel as if I can properly recap. I don't have a sustainable amount of content to show or anything, but I intend to finish at least one of these cartoons in the next month or so.

Collab Work

Majority of my time lately has been spent stressing out over the collabs I've entered, some hosted on Newgrounds while others aren't. I hope to get all of them in order, and I don't believe I can show any of them off here as of now, so I'll simply post those whenever I can. Hoping to get them all done within the next month so I can finally have a half-decent animation reel of sorts.


That's all I have to share for now. Unfortunately work has been a pain do to my poor mental health, but once summer hits, things should be looking up for me. Hope anyone who ends up reading this is doing good as well.

Hey all, welcome to my weekly Duelist Demo update.


I decided to make these updates using Newgrounds Blogs as an excuse to use the site more, so apologies for those of you who aren't able to use the site. I'll be posting these every Sunday between 2pm-8pm EST, and they'll just be a sort of update on any sort of progress that I've gotten on both my Duelist Demo and other various original animations of mine.


DUELIST DEMO

As of late, I've been incredibly busy with life, and generally unable to do any sort of animation work outside of a few tests that I've posted to twitter. Sometime this week, I was able to organize and finish exporting all of the audio (SFX & Music) that i'll be using for the project, and will post some of those as a way to get feedback regarding how fitting it is to the character. I've used this week as an organization week of sorts, as I've set up some documents to organize concept art and general ideas I've had, and starting tomorrow I'll be beginning to work on the outline. I'll be showing a bit of the concept work I've done so far.

Tyrant

Tyrant is a character I made solely to be a roadblock, he's a fucking hell of a fighter that'll act as the main antagonist of the Demo outside of some grunts that do his bidding. Heavily inspired off of characters like Cooler and Metallix, he's a cloaked figure meant to be intimidating as hell.

Verglace

Verglace is the location that both the Duelist Demo & Vitric will take place in. It's a snowy tundra with beautiful sights, it's prone to snowstorms which will heavily obscure sight and comfort. The background will surely take time to finish, and I hope I can layer it properly as to achieve a perfect parallax. I'll ensure everything is moving properly and looks great.

Vitric

Vitric is a blatant addition, and I'm hoping to give him a bit of personality in this Demo. Prior to today, he was kind of an asshole, not very likable, with a shit design and palette. Thanks to some friends, I like the guy now, and he's gonna hopefully be great in this.

I've made some real far progress regarding the story and outline for the Demo, so now all that's realistically left is the visuals and choreography. Coming up with unique and interesting attacks and techniques using a glass oriented power is really fun, but kind of tough. Being that I'm not really the creative type, it's definitely been a challenge for me coming up with all of this stuff on my own, but I'm pretty proud of it!

I won't show much of the document until next week since it's relatively revealing, but here's some stuff for now.

PREPARATION

As of late I've been doing a lot of preparation for Vitrics' Demo, as I want to make sure it's an accurate showing of my skill level. I've been testing some choreography as well as some SFX stuff on my own with little mock up fights, this is also being done to make sure i can accurately make my style of stick figures work well. Taking these steps to ensure I'm able to do my best has definitely been a help, and I'm excited to officially start work on the project again.

OTHER PROJECTS

Excluding the Demo, I still have a LOT of shit to do, I'm currently absolutely flooded with work. I'm hoping a lot of it will be things I end up being proud of, though it may not end up that way (which is fine.). I'll show some stuff I've done as of late, that I hope to release in the next month or so.
